Day 1: Toronto
Pick up your rental car at Toronto airport and make your way downtown.

Day 2: FREE DAY Toronto
Take in the waterfront, perhaps enjoy a lakeshore cruise or explore Toronto’s many museums and attractions. The shopping is excellent.

Day 3: Toronto - Gananoque (291 km)
Today you are heading for the historical town of Kingston, which boasts many ancient fortifications and early Canadian landmarks. This begins the area world-renowned for the 1000 Islands.

Day 4: Gananoque - Montreal (260 km)
Today as you reach Rockport stop for your included cruise on the St. Lawrence River. Continue travelling east along the St. Lawrence River towards Montreal, the second largest French speaking city in the world. The city is renowned for its excellent shopping, fine restaurants, lively nightlife, rich culture and history.

Day 5: FREE DAY Montreal
Highlights for exploration in Montreal are: Notre Dame Cathedral, old Montreal with its cobbled streets and outdoor restaurants,
the old port, McGill University, Mount Royal viewpoint, St. Joseph Oratory, and one of the best shopping streets in Canada, St. Catherine’s.

Day 6: Montreal - Mauricie Region
(~150 km) Departure from Montreal along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. We recommend a visit at La Mauricie National Park. On this vast plateau of rolling hills intersected by valleys and dotted with myriads of lakes, life moves in perfect unison with nature.

Day 7: Mauricie Region - Lac St. Jean (~275 km) 
Lac St. Jean area, home to the “Bluets” as the locals like to call themselves. Here we recommend a visit to the Saint-Felicien Zoo. Discover Native art in Pointe Bleue at the only Montagnais museum in Canada, or catch the amazing view of Lac St. Jean from the top of the cable car at Val-Jalbert, where there is also a fascinating museum which follows the pulp and paper industry of the area from 1901 to 1927.

Wildlife Activity: Saint-Félicien Zoo Here, visitors come into exceptionally close contact with wildlife, and enjoy a unique opportunity to observe and learn. Visitors can almost rub shoulders with a huge number of species, close to 80 of which live together in their habitat. The current mission of the “Wild Zoo”, is to promote awareness, appreciation and conservation of the ecosystems, species, wildlife and plant life that characterize the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, Quebec and Canada as a whole. (Estimate spending minimum 4 hours)

Day 8: Lac St. Jean - Tadoussac (164 km) 
Follow the north shore of the Saguenay River – the strikingly beautiful cliffs and countryside will be sure to captivate you as you head towards the small village of Tadoussac, at the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord.

Day 9: FREE DAY Tadoussac
Tadoussac is a quaint village with a strong ocean going history. Stroll through its small streets or if you wish, you may enjoy a whale-watching cruise on the St. Lawrence River.

Wildlife Activity: Commented Whale Watching Cruise From the deck of one of our cruise ships, you will have a front-row seat for this natural, larger-than-life production featuring spectacular leaps and pods of hungry whales seeking to find enough krill to sate their enormous appetites.

Day 10: Tadoussac – Matane (200 km plus ferry) 
Check ferry schedules prior to departure. Travel along the rugged, northern shore of the St. Lawrence. At Baie Comeau take a ferry across the Seaway to Matane and the Gaspe Peninsula -OR- Alternatively for a shorter ferry crossing you may wish to cross at Rivière-du-Loup to Saint-Siméon and then travel up the south coast to Matane.

Day 11: Matane – Perce (280 km)
This morning travel along the coast towards Perce. Discover the beauty of Forillon National Park – a vast nature reserve
housing numerous plant and animal species.

Day 12: FREE DAY Perce
Perce Rock is one of the most important natural tourist attractions in Quebec. All who have seen it have been impressed by its size, its colour and its beauty. Due to the many belvederes (Mt. Joli, Mt. Sainte-Anne and Pic de l’Aurore, just to name a few) in the area, the Rock can be viewed from many angles. It can also be observed by boat or you can walk right up to it at low tide.

Day 13: Perce - Matapedia (263 km)
This morning you may choose to take a wildlife excursion to the Island of Bonaventure, just off the coast of Perce. Bonaventure
is an active city and has many attractions and activities to offer. There is a museum, a zoo and an interpretation centre. Travel further along the spectacular coastline to the Matapedia Valley.

Day 14: Matapedia – Quebec City (486 km) 
Today you will travel through the Matapedia Valley. A visit to the superb Reford Gardens, located at Grand-Métis, a jewel of Canadian horticultural heritage. Then, follow the St. Lawrence back to Quebec City.

Day 15: FREE DAY Quebec City
A free day to explore this historic city with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and strongly fortified walls.

Day 16: Quebec City - Eastern Townships (Magog 226 km or Knowlton 291 km) 
Today’s journey takes you the historic Eastern Townships of Quebec, where some of Canada’s most picturesque countryside
and communities await you, rich in Anglo-Saxon charm and ‘Quebecois joie de vivre’.

Day 17: Magog - Ottawa (350 km)
Today you will head for Ottawa, Canada’s Capital. Visit the parliament buildings, see the changing of the guard, stroll along the banks of the Rideau Canal. Enjoy the By Ward Market, a colorful outdoor farmers’ market begun in the 1840’s.

Wildlife Activity: Parc Omega Parc Oméga is a unique concept in Quebec. It is an immense 1 800 acre park whose purpose is to let you discover many species of wild animals in their natural habitat every day of the year. A 10 km path winds its way through an extraordinarily varied landscape of lakes, meadows, small valleys, forests, and rocky hills.

Day 18: Ottawa – Huntsville (362 km)
Today you will be traveling through Algonquin Park, exploring this wilderness area. You may wish to enjoy some activities: Hiking, biking, boating and wildlife viewing – black bear and moose are often spotted, while the variety of bird life will astound you.

Day 19: Huntsville – Midland / Georgian Bay area (304 km) 
Today you will travel south east, going through the Muskoka Area. 2,500 square miles of towering pines, sparkling lakes and rivers, endless recreational activities, diversified culture and genuine friendly service.

Wildlife Activity: Wye Marsh Wildlife Center The Wye Marsh Wildlife Center is a environmental awareness facility. With over 25 km of hiking trails, canoe/kayak routes, boardwalks and an observation tower, visitors can get closer to nature all year round.
Day 20: Midland – Niagara Falls (263 km) Bypassing Toronto head to the historic town of Niagara-on-the Lake. Along the Niagara Parkway you will pass Queenston Heights Park, The Floral Clock and the Whirlpool Rapids.

Travelpack recommends: Ste. Marie among the Hurons This reconstructed community tells the story of early Jesuit missionaries and their Huron Christian converts. Live demonstrations, movies, and excellent displays make Ste. Marie a must-see attraction.

Day 21: FREE DAY Niagara Falls

Day 22: Niagara Falls - Toronto (127 km) [Departure] 
Today drive back to Toronto International Airport. Drop off you car and check-in for your flight home.

  • Depending on availability, a B&B within 30 minute drive from the area requested could be confirmed. (Example if there is no availability in Québec city, we could reserve in Lévis or Ile d’Orleans)
  • 2 nights minimum requested with a Saturday evening. (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday)
  • 2 nights minimum requested in the following cities : Toronto, Montréal, Québec and Tadoussac.
